Common questions

Where can I find startup grants in India?

Indian startup grants are spread across national and state portals. The main national starting points are the Startup India portal, the SISFS seed fund portal, and DPIIT recognition. States run their own programmes, such as Kerala Startup Mission and StartupTN. Incubateer pulls these together and matches them to your startup so you do not have to check each portal one by one.

Do I need DPIIT recognition before applying for grants?

For most central schemes, yes. DPIIT Startup Recognition is free and is a prerequisite for SISFS and several other programmes. Some state and private grants do not require it, but getting recognised early opens the widest set of options, so it is usually the first step.

Are these startup grants non-dilutive?

Most government grants and cloud credits are non-dilutive, meaning they do not take equity in your company. A few schemes mix a grant portion with a loan or convertible portion, so read the terms. The grant part never costs you ownership.

What are the best cloud credits for an early startup?

AWS Activate, Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub, and the Google for Startups Cloud Program all give eligible early startups free cloud credits with no equity. Microsoft for Startups is usually the easiest to start with because it is self-serve and does not require outside funding.

How do I keep track of grant deadlines?

Deadlines are the most common reason founders miss funding they qualified for. Incubateer tracks deadlines for the grants that match your startup and can add them to your calendar, so you get a reminder before a round closes.
