Using the AI Lab tools

AI Lab Last updated 17 October 2026 5 min read

The AI Lab is a set of 12 founder tools that take the busywork out of fundraising and grant prep. Each one reads your stored startup profile, so you spend less time re-explaining yourself. Here is what is inside and how to use it.

Quick summary Open the AI Lab, pick one of twelve tools, and it works from your startup profile. Every result can be copied or exported as a Word document. The tools draft and analyse; you review and submit. Nothing is ever submitted for you.

Open the AI Lab

Select AI Lab in the app. Inside it is called the Founder Lab. Each tool runs in the context of whichever startup is active in your startup switcher, so the output is shaped to your venture rather than generic advice.

The twelve tools

The writing tools you submit from, such as drafts, form answers, cover letters and the RFP analysis, run on a higher-quality model. Each account can make 5,000 AI requests a month; if you reach that, the app says so and the count resets the next month.

How each tool uses your profile

Every tool draws on your startup profile: your stage, sector, location, registrations and what you do. You do not start from a blank page. You can add context in the moment, but the baseline is your real startup. A complete profile pays off here as much as it does in scoring.

One known gap: the Grant Writer does not yet use grant details you paste into it, so its draft is shaped by your profile only. For a draft aimed at one specific grant, use the Application Lab in that grant's side panel in Matches, or paste the grant's questions into the Application Helper.

Drafts, never submissions

Every tool produces a first draft, a starting point, not a finished application. Read it, correct anything wrong, add the specifics only you know, and put it in your own voice before it goes anywhere.

Incubateer never submits an application for you. There is no button that sends a draft to a grant body on your behalf. You own every submission.

Treat drafts as drafts A first draft can sound confident and still be wrong on the facts. Check numbers, claims and eligibility against the scheme's own portal before you use anything the AI Lab produces.

Common questions

What can the AI Lab do?

It helps with the writing-heavy parts of applying and fundraising: drafting answers, cover letters and investor emails, analysing a call's PDF into a checklist, and pressure-testing your pitch and idea. You stay in control and edit everything. To check eligibility for a grant, use Check eligibility on its card in Matches.

Does the AI submit or auto-fill government forms?

No. The AI drafts; you review, edit, and submit. No founder should let a tool press submit on an official form.
