Why post-award compliance matters

Grant money usually comes with strings. Funders want to know the money was used for what you said, and they ask for proof on a schedule. Fall behind on reporting or miss a utilization milestone and you can face delayed tranches, frozen funds, or in the worst case a demand to return what you received. Compliance is how you make sure a win stays a win.

Open the Compliance tab

Select Compliance in the app. This tab comes into its own once you move a grant to won in your Apply pipeline. It is scoped to the startup active in your startup switcher, so each venture tracks its own obligations.

Track your reporting obligations

Most grants require periodic reports: progress updates, expenditure statements, and outcome summaries on a set cadence. Record what each grant expects and when it is due so the requirements are written down rather than living in your memory or buried in an email thread. With everything in one place, you can see at a glance what is coming up across all the grants you have won.

Track utilization milestones

Many schemes release funds in tranches tied to milestones, and they expect the money to be spent on the agreed purpose. Use the Compliance tab to track how you are utilizing the funds against those milestones. Keeping this current does double duty: it satisfies the funder and it gives you an honest internal picture of where the money went.

Reminders keep you ahead

The Compliance tab surfaces what is due so a reporting date never sneaks up on you. Treat these reminders the way you treated application deadlines: act on them early, gather the numbers in advance, and submit with room to spare. A grant lost to a missed report is the most avoidable loss there is.
