Getting started: set up your startup in 2 minutes

Basics 4 min read

Incubateer matches you to grants based on what your startup actually is. The better your profile, the more accurate your matches. Here is how to get set up and start seeing grants worth your time.

Quick summary Sign up at app.incubateer.com, complete the short onboarding (stage, sector, location, registration, what you do), then open the Grants tab to see your matches. Run more than one startup? Add each one and switch between them with the startup switcher.

Step 1: Sign up

Go to app.incubateer.com and create a free account. You can sign up with your email in under a minute. There is nothing to install and no credit card needed to start.

Step 2: Fill the onboarding

After you sign up, Incubateer walks you through a short onboarding. Each question shapes the grants you will see, so answer them honestly rather than aspirationally:

  1. Stage. Where the startup really is today: idea, prototype, early revenue, or scaling. Many grants are stage-gated, so this matters.
  2. Sector. Your industry or domain (for example agri-tech, fintech, health, climate, deep tech). Some schemes only fund specific sectors.
  3. Location. Your state and city. State and central schemes both depend on where you are registered and operating.
  4. Registration status. Whether you are a private limited company, LLP, partnership firm, or not yet registered, plus whether you hold DPIIT recognition. Several grants require a specific entity type.
  5. What you do. A plain description of the problem you solve. This helps Incubateer place you against grants that are not obvious from sector alone.

Step 3: See how your profile drives matching

Once onboarding is done, open the Grants tab. Every grant you see is ranked against your profile and carries a score verdict: strong match, worth a look, or long shot. The Dashboard gives you a quick overview of where you stand, and the Grants tab is where you browse the full ranked feed.

Because matching is profile-driven, an incomplete profile gives you weaker matches. If you skipped anything during onboarding, fill it in. The score you see is only as honest as the inputs you give it.

Why honest answers win Incubateer does not inflate scores to make you feel good. If you mark yourself as further along than you are, you will see grants you cannot actually win and waste time applying. Accurate inputs mean accurate matches.

Step 4: Add and switch between multiple startups

If you run more than one venture, you do not need separate accounts. Use the startup switcher at the top of the app to add a new startup and complete its own onboarding. Each startup keeps its own profile, matches, applications, and documents.

To move between them, open the startup switcher and pick the one you want to work on. The entire app, including the Grants tab and the Apply tab, updates to that startup. Grants are re-matched for whichever startup is active, so you always see the right list.
