Connect and Playlists

Community 5 min read

Chasing grants alone is harder than it needs to be. Connect puts you in touch with founders and mentors and helps you team up on consortium grants. Playlists give you curated collections of grants so the right ones come to you.

Quick summary Connect has three parts: Network (message founders), Office Hours (book mentor sessions), and Co-Apply Groups (team up for grants that need more than one applicant). Playlists are curated, themed grant collections you can subscribe to, with alerts when new grants are added.

Open the Connect tab

Select Connect in the app. Inside you will find three sections: Network, Office Hours, and Co-Apply Groups. Together they cover the people side of grant hunting.

Network: message founders

The Network section lets you find and message other founders on Incubateer. Use it to compare notes on a scheme, ask how someone handled a tricky requirement, or simply learn from people a step ahead of you. Founders who have applied to the grants you are eyeing are often the most useful source of detail you will not find on an official website.

Office Hours: book a mentor

The Office Hours section lets you book time with mentors. When you are stuck on positioning, financials, or how to approach a specific grant, a short session with someone who has done it can save you weeks. Browse availability and book a slot that fits.

Co-Apply Groups: team up for consortium grants

Some grants are designed for more than one applicant, for example consortium or collaborative schemes that fund a group of startups working together. The Co-Apply Groups section helps you form or join such a group so you can apply jointly. If a grant you want requires partners, this is where you find them and coordinate the application.

Open the Playlists tab

Select Playlists in the app. Playlists are curated, themed collections of grants, grouped around a sector, a stage, a region, or a particular opportunity. Instead of filtering the whole Grant Explorer yourself, you can lean on a collection someone has already assembled.

Subscribe and get alerts

When a playlist matches what you are after, subscribe to it. Subscribing does two things:

  1. It keeps the collection handy so you can come back to it without rebuilding a filter.
  2. It sends you alerts when new grants are added to that playlist, so a fresh opportunity in your theme reaches you without you having to keep checking.

Playlists pair well with the Alerts tab, where your broader notification settings live. Between the two, the grants that fit your focus tend to find you rather than the other way around.

Tip If you find yourself running the same Grant Explorer filter every week, look for a playlist that already covers that theme and subscribe instead. You will get the new additions automatically rather than rediscovering them by hand.
